UofL’s Favorite Coach Out As Kentucky Head Coach

Billy Gillispie is reportedly fired as Kentucky’s head coach at just two years as head coach at one of college basketballs pinnacle positions.  A press conference is set for 4:30 this afternoon to announce the firing of Gillispie.

So no we get to go through several more weeks of Hell listening to UK fans talk about how they could get Rick Pitino back if they wanted him or we get to watch another unsuccessful UK attempt to court Billy Donovan.  My gut instinct is telling me that John Pelphrey or Travis Ford are the leaders for the open position at Kentucky.

Unfortunately for Gillispie, the following video may be what is remembered of him as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats.

This just really makes me mad.  I don’t want Kentucky to have a new coach, I love beating this guy and his team into a pulp.

Gillispie is actually not a bad coach, he’s not just the right personality for UK.  He’s a Texas guy.  He also needs more time, which the Big Blue Nation doesn’t give anyone.  They don’t understand that he’s actually a great recruiter and was building a team that would probably be able to compete for a national title within a few years, but they want to cut the nets down now.
