Baseball Slams Evansville 13-4

The 28th-ranked Louisville Cardinals Men’s Baseball team took it to the University of Evansville today 13-4 at Jim Patterson Stadium.  Junior first baseman Andrew Clark hit 5 for 5 with three RBI’s.  Right-handed pitcher Mike Nastold pitched seven innings for the Cards while allowing 10 hits and 4 runs as he picked up his second career win.

“I thought Mike was very good today and it was definitely the best performance he’s had in his young career,” said Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell. “And it’s always special when a player can get five hits in a game like Andrew did today. He has looked much better at the plate the last couple of days and he really did a nice job in today’s game.”

Chris Dominguez picked up 2 hits and knocked in three runs as he extended his hitting streak to a personal best 15 games.  The Junior third baseman leads the Cards in nearly all major stats with a .400 average, seven home runs, 33 RBI’s and 10 stolen bases in 14 attempts.

The Cards will take on in-state rival Western Kentucky tomorrow at 4:00 P.M. at Jim Patterson Stadium.
